Mrs. Hester Ann Parker, 79, a resident of Townsend and vicinity for many years, died at the home of her eldest daughter, Leia Campbell, in Townsend at one o'clock this morning.

Mrs. Parker was a pioneer resident of this area, having resided in Meagher and Broadwater counties since coming to Montana when a young woman.

She was born in Iowa, Feb. 22, 1858. She came to Montana across the plains in a covered wagon and located first in the Prickly Pear Valley, later residing in Meagher county a number of years before moving to the Townsend section.

In Meagher county she met and married Anslem Parker. To their marriage were born eight children, two of whom died in infancy and a third, Frank, passed away several years ago.

The surviving sons are J.A. Parker of Townsend and J.W. Parker of Nebraska. Living daughters are, Mrs. Campbell of Townsend, Mrs. Bessie Double of White Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Florence Hartley of Butte.

Mrs. Parker had made her home in Townsend with Mrs. Campbell for several years past.

Funeral services Connors mortuary in Townsend. Burial in Duck Creek Cemetery.
