He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife,two daughters,four stepdaughters, 14 grandchildren and one brother.
Graveside services, with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota National Guard, will be at noon Monday, June 7, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
