A young Eckley woman, Lynette Ferguson, was killed instantly in a one car accident west of Wray early Friday morning. She was traveling west on Highway 34 when her car failed to negotiate a curve and struck a bridge abutment causing it to turn over. The funeral service was held Monday morning at the Eckley Community Church with Rev. Willis Ickler officiating Burial was made in the Eckley Cemetery.

Lynette Elaine Morgan was born March 29, 1950, to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Morgan and died March 2, 1972, after a tragic accident. She was 21 years, 11 months old at the time of her death.

Lynette lived in this area most of her life having gone to the Eckley and Yuma schools. She graduated from Yuma high school in 1968.

In June 1971 she was united in marriage to Richard Ferguson. They made their home in Eckley.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Ferguson; her son, Clayton by a former marriage; her parents, Howard and Rosalie; one brother, Steven, of San Diego; four sisters, Jeanie, Linda, Wilda and Crystal; and grandmothers, Rema Morgan of Loveland and Pearl Armagost of Yuma.
