There is an error on the headstone in Free's year of death, it should be 1951. Also note the difference in the cause of death in the obituaries (heart ailment) and the death certificate (Stomach hemorrhage due to stomach ulcer). One of his grandsons has Crohn's Disease, I suspect it may be in the Carroll family.

THE LINE UP

When I got this job I stood in line
For half a-day or more
And when they took my fingerprints
'Twas a line up at the door.
- - - - - - - - - -
I stand in line to go to work,
Again at close of day.
It's get in line to get your check,
Likewise to cash your pay.
- - - - - - - - - - -
There's a line up at all hatch-ways
When the whistle's 'bout to blow,
It's a line up at the tool-room,
Then line up to go below.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
At six a.m. I'm in the line
Before the bathroom door.
Then rush out to a restaurant
And line up as before.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
There's a long line at the Union hall
Where I have to pay my dues,
A line up every place I go
For Sugar, Shows or Shoes.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
It's get in line to board a bus
Or buy a crock of gin
"Please God, if I make heaven,
Won't you let me walk right in?"
