Tonya Renea McDavid, 48, of Grayson, Ky., rests with her Lord and Savior following her passing Monday evening, May 31, 2010.
She was born Aug. 20, 1961, in Paintsville, Ky., to Ruth Mills Meek of Paintsville, Ky., and the late Homer Meek.
She was a member of Reedville Christian Baptist Church, was the lead singer of the New Hope Singers and was a member of the KYOVA Gospel Music Association. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Heavenly Treasures Christian Bookstore in Grayson. She was also a licensed hair dresser.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Douglas Meek.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, is her loving husband, Rick McDavid; a daughter, Veronica McDavid; three brothers, Steve (Michelle) Meek, Gary Meek and James Dennis (Jenny) Meek; two sisters, Kathy (James Phillip) Daniel and Twana (Edmond) Hickman; and a host of special loving relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Bryan Whitt and Delmar Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Messer/Rogers Cemetery in Grayson.
Michael McDavid, Jeff Mills, Steve Meek, James Meek, Ricky Clary and Dee McDavid will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p. m. today, June 2, 2010, at Boones Camp Free Will Baptist Church on KY 40 and from 4 to 9 p. m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the funeral home.
