Obituary of Sophia (Timm) Culow from the Evangelical Messenger Sept 20, 1899 pg. 603

CULOW,-Sophia Culow, nee Timm, was born in Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany, Nov. 25, 1828, and died at her daughter's home in Marcellus, Mich., Sept. 9, 1899. The deceased came to America in 1857, and was married the same year to John Culow. This union was blessed with 2 sons and 2 daughters. The husband, the 2 sons and 1 daughter preceded her in death. One daughter, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 sister remain to mourn their loss. In 1864 Sister Culow was converted to God, under the labors of Rev. R. Rigel, and joined the Ev. Association and remained a consistent member and a faithful Christian until death. Funeral services by the undersigned, assisted by Rev. F. Koehler, pastor of Marcellus charge. G.A. Hettler.

Sophia Timm was the daughter of Ludwig "Lewis" and Sophia Friedricka Augusta "Hattie" Timm, all from Germany. She was married to John Culow, April 17, 1857 in White Pigeon, Michigan.
