Mrs. Colvin, 81, was the widow of the late Jim Colvin, who was a former Sheriff of Lincoln Parish and later co-owner of the Colvin Hotel, forerunner of the Winnfield Hotel here. She died Friday in a Monroe hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services were held in a Ruston funeral home conducted by her great nephew, Rev. Patrick, of Baton Rouge. Burial was in Ruston [Greenwood] Cemetery.
Survivors are two sons, Lamar Colvin, an attorney at Mansfield, and Justin Colvin, co-owner of a grocery firm in Winnsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Farmer of California; one brother, John Henry of Simsboro; one half-sister, Mrs. Blanchard; and a sister, Mrs. Raymond Heard of Ruston; and a host of other relatives and friends in Winn Parish.
Attending the funeral from here were Mrs. Colvin's sisters-in-law, Mrs. Annabelle Dickerson and Mrs. A. T. Drewett, Sr., and her brother-in-law, T. H. Colvin and son, David Payne, of Alexandria.
