DOUGLAS AUSTIN WEEMS

Douglas Austin Weems, 62, of the Hebron Community, died Monday of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, from Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with the Rev. Bob Nevels, assisted by the Rev. John Sproles officiating. Interment was in Hebron Cemetery.

Mr. Weems was a native of Holmes County, a retired veteran of World War II, and a member of Hebron Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife. Mrs. Lois Weems of Lexington: one daughter, Mrs. Carl Clifford of Holbrook. N.Y.: one son, Jeffery Weems of Holbrook, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Byrd of Lexington, Mrs. Kathern Blackstock of Ocean Springs: three brothers, Edward Weems and Bill Weems of Lexington, and Eugene Weems of Jackson.

Pallbearers were Clyde Winstead, Ellis Byrd, Louis Alexander, Ralph Alexander, Bob McLellan, John Devine, Wilson Harvey and George Bell.
