She was born May 1, 1921, in Lorain and remained a life resident.

Mrs. Chonko was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Lorain. She was also a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping and spending time with her family, especially during the holidays.

Survivors include her daughters Norma Monaco of Amherst, Stephanie Moran of Oberlin and Gail Kahnert of Amherst; son, Kenneth of Henrietta Township; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Norton of Amherst. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Steve, in 1995; parents, Demitrius and Julia Millie Ilcisko; and brothers Mitro, Joseph and John Ilcisko.

Family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave., Amherst. There will be a Parastas today 7 p.m. and a Panahida Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by Funeral Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St., Lorain. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
