C. Lee Beattie, 39, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., passed away Saturday May 29, 2010, in an automobile accident as he was traveling through Bunker Hill, W.Va.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial with military honors will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and additional visitation one hour prior to services Thursday.

Carins Lee Beattie was born Dec. 12, 1970, in Rock Island, a son of Karins Lee Beattie and Sandra Grace Sweet Beattie.

Lee served in the U.S. Army for 12 years. Since 2002, he was a satellite communications expert with Orbital in Dulles, Va. He loved golfing and volleyball. He was a member of the All-Army Volleyball Team and played nationally. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are his mother, Sandra Barr, Lake Orion, Mich.; brother, David Harley Beattie, Dallas, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Lee is preceded in death by his grandparents and father.
