Steven "Steve'' John Hammer, 50, of Duluth, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, in St. Mary's Hospice. Steve was born in Marshall, Minn., on April 17, 1958, to William and Nellie (Nelson) Hammer. He was a former Auto Detailer. Steve moved to Duluth in 1999. Steve was a member of the Minnesota epilepsy association. He liked to fish and was a photographer. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joann Gilb; and his brother, Daniel Hammer. Steve is survived by his brother, William of Duluth; three sisters, Kay (Robert) Fiedler of Clear Lake, Minn., Joyce (Norbert) DeMeyer of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Deborah (Douglas) Campbell of Minneapolis and his special friend, Nicole Berg of Duluth. Internment will be at the Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, Minn.
