Cory Allen "The Pro Honts" Honts, 17 of 1001 E Seventh Street died Sunday morning December 12, 1993 at University hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bishop Craig Thrap will officiate. Kayleen Teed will be organist. Pallbearers will be Bill Martin Hake, Tison Hake, Roger Lee Hake, Mike Lee Caffery, Juan F. Perez, Lee D. Dengler and Aaron Elliott. Burial wil be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
Honts was born July 1, 1976, in Heidelburg, West Germany, a son of David A. and Jeanette P. (Galvery) Honts. He had lived here for 15 years.
He was a junior at Muscatine High school and until recently was employed at McDonald's.
He was a member of the Muscatine Boxing Club and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.
He was an avid outdoorsman, His hobbis included fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his parents, David and Jeanette; four brothers, Frank K. Honts of Hayward, Calif., and Joseph L. Honts, Benjamin J. Honts and Adam W. Honts all of Muscatine; three sisters, Mrs Brian (Christina S.) Cho of Hayward and Rachel E. Honts and Davina I. Honts both of Muscatine and his maternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs Joseph (Jeanette) Kelly of Hayward and Mr and Mrs William L. (Patricia Galvery of Deerpark, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Lynn E. Honts.
