Funeral services for Mrs. George Waterman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Tarver officiating. Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery. Organist will be Jack Noble. Vocalist will be Marlys Miller. Selection will be "How Great Thou Art."
Born Rose Chaussee in Vermillion on Nov. 5, 1874, she married George Waterman on April 4, 1894, also in Vermillion. Mrs. Waterman lived in Vermillion from 1894 until 1909; they lived in Faulkton from 1909 until 1936, when they returned to Vermillion until 1946. Mr. Waterman preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1946.
Mrs. Waterman has resided in the Sogge Nursing Home for the past 11 years. It is located in Windom, Minnesota. She was 98 years old at the time of her death. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rebeccas and the 76 Club.
Casket bearers will be Jay and Clark Swisher, Virgil Peterson, Lowell Brown, Vern Holter and Kenneth Mockler. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Paul Hutton (Lura Edna) of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Paul Lockwood (Ethel Selina) of Windom, Minn., and Mrs. Art Nerling (Gladys) of Sacramento, Calif; two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Edna Swisher of Vermillion.
