Verna Celeste Sumrall Martin
MARTIN Verna Celeste, 90, of Oklahoma City, went to be with her Savior on July 9, 2000. Verna was born April 7, 1910 in Brinkman, Oklahoma to William and Virginia Sumrall. She married Leonard C. Martin on November 12, 1927 in Brinkman, Oklahoma.
Verna was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she was an active member in her church.
She is survived by her children, William C. Martin, Eddie Martin, Anna (John) Murray, and Alice C. Harville. Her grandchildren, Gaye Jones, Rebecca Roe, Monda Daniel, Sherrie Hutchinson, Stephen Murray, John T. Murray, Edward Murray, Brenda Oaks, Theresa Amblad, Mary Kay Koerner, Karen Yarbrough, Kathy Mitz, and Cara Blair also survive her. 28 great grandchildren also survive her. Many beloved family and friends also survive her. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Leonard, two children, Dwain Allen Martin & Ronald Dee Martin, and by a granddaughter, Tuesday Chapman.
Services will be Thursday, July 13, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. at the Southeast Church of Christ, with Mr. Dennis Roofs and Mr. Dale Phillips officiating the services. Interment will be at Springcreek Memorial Gardens. Capitol Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
