Four Answer Call of Grim Reaper
Charles J. Axtell, age 66 years, died this morning in Lafayette at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L.A. Campbell. His body was brought to this city this evening over the Monon and was taken to the home of his mother, Mrs. Susan M. Axtell, west Kirkwood Avenue, from where the funeral services will be held tomorrow at two oclock, in charge of Dr. C.H. Taylor. Although Mr. Axtell had been ill over a year his condition did not become serious until a little over two weeks ago.
He is survived by a brother, Frank, of Washington, who with his wife, will attend the funeral. Harry of this city and Mrs. Belle Willis, this city, and Mrs. K.O. Hert of New Jersey. A.B. Willis, a nephew of Nashville, Tenn., will arrive tomorrow for the funeral.
His mother who was by his bedside will also return this evening.
Mr. Axtell was in business here several years with his brother, H.A. Axtell on the east side of the square in the old Dietz stand. He was a son of Dr. Axtell.
