Jim was born on March 1, 1921 in Bluffton to Albert L. & Anna A. (Knox) Krill. Jim graduated from Bluffton High School and served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was the owner & operator of the Chef's Inn in Bluffton from 1956 to 1976. He also worked for General Electric for 14 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the American Legion Post #111 of Bluffton.
Jim married Betty D. (Farling) Krill in Covington on Dec. 17, 1939, she preceded him in death on April 28, 2009. Surviving are three sons, James K. Krill of St. Petersburg, Fla., John D. Krill of Fort Wayne, and Tim A. Krill of Bristol; and a daughter, Steveanna Collett of Greenville, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by a brother George Krill and a sister Mary Ellen Smitherst.
As Jim requested, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.
