ISENBERG, Cherryhill township, Pa.; and Mrs. Clara M. DAVIS, Beaver, Pa. Three sisters also survive, viz.: Mrs. Mary MICHAELS, Strongstown, Pa., Mrs. Sarah FRY and Mrs. Nancy CARBAUGH, East Wheatfield township. He had 19 grand-children.
John Budoin HILL was born at Ligonier, Westmoreland County, in 1842, and was at the time of his death, 68 years, 11 months and 15 days old. He enlisted for service in the Civil War March 16, 1864, being mustered into the army for three years, at Greensburg, and was assigned to C. D. 11th Pa. Vol. Inf. under Col. Coulter. He was wounded May 7, 1864, and being unfit for service was sent to a hospital at Washington D.C. He fought in 12 battles and received an honorable discharge on Oct. 4,18[illegible] at Stanton hospital, Washington D.C. At the time of his death he was a member of G.A.R. Post No. 440 at Mechanicsburg. He had been a member of Brush Valley Township for about 50 years. He was a life long member of the Evangelical church, and was an active worker in the cause. He was a kind and loving father, and a good neighbor who will be missed by the entire community. His wife preceded him to the better world about 16 years ago, since which time he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. George Hill.
