Donald Ray Powell, 48, of Springdale died July 25, 1989, at Springdale. He was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Wesley, the son of Mirl Cecil and Bertha Davis Powell. He was a Baptist and a 27-year employee at the Tyson Foods research farm.
Survivors include his widow, Carolyn Logue Powell of the home; his parents of Springdale; two sons, Eddie Powell of Springdale and Paul Powell of Johnson; one daughter, Donna Dorris of Lowell; two step-daughters, Michelle Ballard of Springdale and Melissa Christian of the home; three brothers, Junior Powell and Jerry Powell, both of Springdale, and Jim Powell of Siloam Springs; six sisters, Lois Satterfield, Doris Carter, Sue Ward and Merlene Robertson, all of Springdale, Joyce Carr of Hindsville and Barbara Hall of Lincoln; and four grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Friday, July 28, at Sisco Chapel of Springdale with the Rev. Johnny Sisemore officiating. Burial was in Elm Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rick Satterfield, David Carter, James Carr, Coby Hall, John Powell and Pete Robertson.
