Author. best known for writing the Amelia Bedelia series which later turned into a movie in 1984 bearing the same name. She based the character Amelia Bedelia based on a maid in Cameroon, Africa, where she spent most of her time at.
She died of an aneurysm shortly after completing her last book
Amelia Bedelia's Family Album.
The book Good Driving, Amelia Bedelia, is dedicated in her memory by her nephew Herman Parish, who is now writing the books in her place.
