Ernest L. BIXLER, 60, 1001 Newman Ave., died at 9:20 a.m. Monday, at his residence. He had been in failing health a year.
Mr. BIXLER was born in Sturgis on July 21, 1915, a son of David and Nancy (TREMAINS) BIXLER. He lived in Sturgis until 1968, when he moved to Flordia. He returned to Sturgis last October.
Mr. BIXLER was married to Kathleen FELTER.
He was associated in the real estate business while in Sturgis.
Surviving are his widow; three children, Mrs. David (Diane) WEGNER, Sturgis; David BIXLER, Lytle Creek, Calif.; and Mrs. Michael (Priscilla) KAUFFMAN, San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Mrs. Otto (Margaret) ZELT, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Foglesong Funeral Home beginning this evening (Tuesday) . Services will be held at the mortuary at 1:30p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. John Graf, pastor of the St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
