RIPLEY Effie Yancey Grisham, 98, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996, at the Ripley Manor Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Rambo officiating. Burial will be in Rucker Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Elmer Yancey of Memphis; one stepdaughter, Leola Garner of Booneville; two sisters, Josephine Waldon of Ripley and Jessie Lou Reed of Ingomar; one brother, Mancel Jamieson of Whiteboro, Texas; two grandchildren, James Crowl of Baton Rouge, La., and Pam McIlvain of Atlanta, Ga.; 10 stepgrandchildren, Anita Elrod, Rhodella Gaillard, Sarah Elliott, Phil Sparks and Jean Hodges, all of Dumas, Elizabeth Moore of Baldwyn, Nancy Spain of Booneville, Roy Arnold Grisham of Trenton, N.J., Nancy Anderson of Montgomery, Ala., and Tommy Garner of Little Rock, Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Jenny Crowl, and Eddie and Emily McIlvain; several stepgreat-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be W.C. Mann, J.P. "Sport" Gandy, Harold Waldon, Harold Elrod, Phil Sparks and Jim Gaillard.
