Willard Gustin, 62
Memorial services for Willard Gustin, age 62, who died March 6, 1990, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, were held 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, at First United Methodist Church in Blair with Dr. Howard Bailey officiating.
Willard Ley Gustin was born on January 21, 1928, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Willard E. and Elsie Kegler Gustin. He attended the Blair Community Schools, graduating from high school in 1945.
He worked for Trans World Airlines before entering the Marine Corps. After his discharge from the service he attended and graduated from Iowa State University.
On February 15, 1951, he married Mae Beardmore in Waukon, Iowa.
Willard was engaged in farming until 1960 when he began working for Mutual of Omaha. Upon his retirement in 1985, he was manager of the continuing disability department. He was active in the Blair Masonic Lodge and was past Master of the Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mae; his daughters, Tahni Gustin, Palmdale, California; Lisa (Mrs. Mark) Engel, Omaha, Nebraska, Karen Gustin, Lincoln, Nebraska, one son, Richard of Homer, Alaska; one grandson, Dana Engel. He is also survived by two sisters, Elaine Campbell of North Bend, Oregon, and Bette Kiernan of Long Beach, California.
