N. F. Tift is listed on the Confederate Graves Registry as #80367. They quote his Confederate Service Record from Fold3 and also pension records, saying he was a Pvt In Captain Nelson's Independent Co of Cav. ( See cgr.scv.org- Put in last name, state of cemetery as Georgia and county of cemetery as Dougherty--then search to see it.)
Also N. F. Tift is listed with the group of veterans awarded CSA crosses in Albany, GA in November 1901. See Albany Weekly Herald, Nov. 15, 1901 page 3. Access through Historic South Ga newspapers on the library website.
