March 10, 1934 - Feb. 26, 2010 Willie Sue Hanson, 75, Kokomo, passed away at 9:04 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 10, 1934, in South Carolina, to the late Monroe Staggs and Macie (Whitfield) Staggs Brewer. On Dec. 6, 1952, she married John Victor Hanson, who survives. Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was actively involved in all of her children's lives. She was a den mother for many years, a Girl Scout leader and the treasurer for the PTO when her children were younger. She loved to read, paint and loved to crochet afghans for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Vonda Hanson, Marion, Steve and Sandy Hanson, Peru; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phil and Cathy Stout, Kokomo, Paul and Pam Drook, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Kenneth Hanson and wife Rebekah, Chrissy Hanson, Keith Hanson and wife eRin, Nicholas and Aaron Hanson, Rachel and Andrea Stout, Nathan Drook and wife Erin, Noah, Nehemiah, Naomi and Noelle Drook; also her great-grandchildren, Kyler, Madelyn and Kaden Hanson, Amara, Joslyn and Lorelei Hanson and Joselyn Drook; a sister-in-law, Billie Staggs, Oklahoma; and a cousin, Pauline Worley, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bruce and James (Rufus) Staggs; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Drook. Friends may visit with family from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home in Bunker Hill. Services are 2 p.m. following the visitation. The burial will be at the Springdale Cemetery, with Chaplain Don Miller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Hospice.
