William W. "Willie" Lindquist, age 75, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. William Wayne Lindquist was born February 4, 1929 the son of Axel and Henrietta (Gramm) Lindquist. He was raised in Montgomery County, Iowa until he was a freshman in high school when the family moved to the Carson area. He graduated from Carson High School in 1948. William was united in marriage to Shirley Black on April 22, 1950 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived most of their married life in Red Oak, Iowa except for one year when they lived in Kentucky. Willie operated heavy equipment earth movers for most of his life. He also operated J D Café from 1974 until 1990.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter: Kathleen; wife: Shirley Lindquist on January 1, 1981; and sister: Joyce Blackwell.

Survivors include his 3 daughters: Peggy Embree, Patricia Hawkins and husband Ronald, and Penny Torczon all of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Donald Lindquist and wife Tina of Red Oak, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; half sister: Sharon Nice of Austin, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 2 PM Friday, September 10, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial of ashes will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. A memorial fund is being established.
