Mrs. Mahalie Cummins, 87 years old, died at her residence on the Jacks Creek Road yesterday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock. She was the widow of Samuel Cummings. Mrs. Cummings was born in Fayette County, where she spent her entire life. She was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by three sons, C.T. Cummings, William Dillard Cummings, and Lexie Cummings, all of Fayette County: three daughters, Mrs. Noah Williams and Mrs. Bert Jenkins, both of Lexington, and Mrs. Tilmon Shanks, of Fayette County; brother, James Stinnett, of Lexington; 26 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.

The body was removed to Kerr Brothers home, 465 East Main Street, and this afternoon will be returned to the residence where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Lexington cemetery.
