LYONS - Norma was born in Melrose, Kan. to Morley and Charlea Ickes. She moved to Norwalk, Calif. in 1946 from Kansas living there until 1981 when they retired and moved to Anderson, Calif. then coming to Lyons in 2001. Norma worked for 16 years as a clerk at Sav-on drug store. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Claud ‘"Pat"’ McClanahan whom she married on Jan. 17, 1946; sons, David McClanahan of Yorba Linda, Calif. and Stephen McClanahan of Corona, Calif.; daughter, Karen King of Lyons; brothers, Charles Ickes of Chula Vista, Calif. and Gale Ickes of Lewiston, Calif.; sisters, Virginia Anderson of Lyons, Donna Stonecipher of Victorville, Calif., and Mary Smith of Ore Grande, Calif.; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Research.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Sat., June 26, 2004 at Victor Valley Mortuary Chapel in Victorville, Calif. Interment will be at Victor Valley Memorial Park. Local arrangements are by Weddle Funeral Home.
