She was married to Scott Gard, Jan. 1, 1856, and one year later moved to Clark County, Ill., where she has remained till her death. To this union eight children were born, four boys and four girls. The father, three of the girls and one of the boys preceded her. Those that remain are Mrs. Black, of West Plains, Mo., John, of Hartsell, Colo, and Wilk and Rob, of this place.
A short service was held at the home, conducted by J. W. Patterson in the presence of a large gathering of friends and neighbors. The body was interred in the Mount Cemtery.
