Obituary from Post Register (Idaho Falls, ID) - 29 October 2003:
David Bruce Gardner, 37, of Idaho Falls, died October 27, 2003, of injuries received in an automobile accident north of Ashton.

He was born February 18, 1966, in Boise, Idaho, to Stephen Ray Gardner and Julie Anne Day. He grew up in the Boise and Blackfoot areas. He graduated from Blackfoot High School and then graduated from a culinary arts school in Seattle, Washington.

In 1992 he was married and was later divorced. He was the operator and owner of Ashley's Italian Restaurant in Idaho Falls. At the time of his death, he was executive chef at the Trout Hunter Lodge in Island Park.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. David was very fun-loving and personable, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and preparing meals.

Survivors include his fiancee, Jamie Leigh Woodhouse of Idaho Falls; a daughter, Jaycee Rose Woodhouse of Idaho Falls; stepdaughter, Ashley Kelso of Rigby; his mother, Julie (Darrel) Staples, currently serving an LDS mission in the Naga Philippines Mission; father, Stephen (Shari) Gardner of Boise; grandfather, Carl Day of Idaho Falls; two sisters, Becky (Bruce) Lundquist of Logan, Utah, and Tina Gardner of South Carolina; and two brothers, Jeff (Andrea) Gardner of Blackfoot and Scott Gardner of Boise.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Craig Gardner; a sister, Vicki Jo Gardner; and grandmother, Virginia Day.

Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Idaho Falls LDS 24th Ward, 1155 First Street. The family will visit with friends for one hour before services Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls.
