Services Held Sat. For M.H. Anderson

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist Church for Mitchell [sic] Hugh Anderson with Rev. Arvis Burnett and Rev. Ed Byers officiating.

Mr. Anderson, 83, died Friday morning in a Plainview hospital following a long illness. He had made his home there with a daughter, Mrs. A.P. Thomason the past five years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Mrs. Anderson was born Oct. 25, in Fayetteville, Arkansas and lived in the vicinities of Crowell, Borger and Clarendon before his retirement. Mrs. Anderson preceded him in death Oct. 20, 1949.

Survivors are two sons, Rufe and Morgan Anderson, both of Wichita Falls; eight daughters, Mrs. J.P. Whitfield, Dickens; Mrs. Claude Brina, Sulphur Springs; Mrs. Leo Green, Fort Worth; Mrs. Dick Barton, Vancouver, Wash.; Mrs. C.E. Eudy, Lubbock; Mrs. Ray Briggs, Clarendon; Mrs. Allen Milsap, Fritch, and Mrs. Thomason; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Sparks, Midland, and Mrs. May Smith, Carlsbad, N.M..; four brothers, Rollie Anderson, Flomot; C.E. Anderson, Quitaque; Albert Anderson, San Diego, Calif., and J.F. Anderson, Woodward, Okla. Forty-two grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren survive.

Pallbearers were G.W. Bradshaw, Lloyd McCord, Odos Caraway, Pete White, Ross Noles and John White.

Burial was in Citizens Cemetery with the Murphy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
