George H. Allen, aged 67 years, died at his home at 1621 Main Saturday night. As Mrs. Allen was in Minnesota at the time of her husbands death, funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Funerals
George Henry Allen who died Saturday evening at ten-twenty o'clock was born September 29, 1854, near Bunkerhill, McGooping, Ill. He came to Kansas in 1870 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Allen. They located on a claim west of Winfield. He was married in Vernon township December 24, 1878, to Miss Cynthia Simons. To this union were born two daughters, and four sons, one daughter died in infancy.

Mr. Allen lived on a farm until 20 years ago when he came to Winfield. He was a good citizen and many friends mourn his death. Mr. Allen suffered from paralysis for about three years.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. S.W. Whitted of Minnesota, four sons, Wm. D., of Wichita, Howard and Claude of Winfield and Leonard of Wabedo, Minnesota and seventeen grandchildren. Three brothers, a sister and his parents all preceded him in death.

The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home 1621 S. Main. Rev. A.L. Deever will be in charge. Interment will be made in Highland cemetery.
