Jay Adkins, 64, of Clarendon, former Hamlin resident, died Jan. 13 in Clarendon following an apparent heart attack.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Jan. 17 in Clarendon with Dr. James O. Brandon, Baptist minister from Wichita Falls, officiating.
Mr. Adkins was born July 9, 1909, in Hamlin where he grew up. A veteran of World War II and a Shriner, He was a retired executive for a welding firm in Wichita Falls.
He retired about three years ago when he moved to Stamford. He moved to Clarendon later.
Survivors are his father, Lige Adkins of Clarendon; two sons, Russell Adkins of San Angelo and Don Adkins of Monterrey, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
