Mrs. Mahala Brooks died at her home in Thorn Grove, Tenn., several weeks ago. She was the mother of Bro. B. N. Brooks of Argenta, Ark., and was a most excellent lady. She had been a reader of the Baptist and Reflector for many years. We tender the bereaved family our deep sympathy.

Mahala was my great-great grandmother. The wife of James Albert Brooks and the mother of my great grand-father Rev. Benjamin Newton Brooks.
