Wesley Bradford Holmes Sr., of Plymouth, died May 25. Born in Plymouth, Dec. 7, 1932, a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Herries) Holmes, he was educated in the Plymouth schools and Weymouth Trade School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Wesley worked as a truck driver for Dunlaps Oil Co. He was a member of the Genesis amateur radio club, the VFW 1822 Plymouth and Local 25 Teamsters. Wesley was a cranberry grower and lobsterman and was an avid hunter. He was the beloved husband of Ann M. (Oldham) Holmes; loving father of Wesley B. Holmes Jr. and Julie A. Watson, both of Plymouth; brother of Edwin of Weymouth, Richard of Plymouth, Stephen Holmes of Plymouth, Shirley Matheson of Brockton, Sylvia Viirre of Plymouth, Rosalind Holmes of Plymouth and Marcia Wall of Plymouth; grandfather of Nicholas Watson, Hayley Watson, Noah Watson and Jason Holmes. Graveside service Friday at 11 a.m. in the South Pond Cemetery, Plymouth. Visiting hour in the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the , 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
