Marjorie M. Yates, 83, of Virden, IL passed away at 1:34 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
Marjorie was born June 3, 1926, in Springfield, IL, a daughter of Robert and Elsie M. (VanNattan) Goin Sr. She married Rex S. Yates April 5, 1947, in Springfield, IL; he preceded in death; along with a brother, Thomas Goin.
Marjorie attended Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, IL and was a homemaker.
Marjorie is survived by a son, Brett A. (Cheryle) Yates of Springfield, IL; daughters, Sandra Kay (Brent) Pruett of Litchfield, IL, Karen Louise (Kent) Wilkerson of Broken Arrow, OK and Shelley Roxanne Yates of Virden, IL; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Evelyn) Goin of Springfield, IL and Richard (Zella) Goin, Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Linda Kelley of Springfield, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL with graveside services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Memorials may be made to donor's choice.
