Orval B. Houseknecht, 74, of 220 Chestnut St. Muncy, PA died Thurday, Sept. 10, 1970 at his home. He had been ill for the past two years.

Mr. Houseknecht, was born in Penn Twp., August 16, 1896, he was a son of Baker L. and Mary Neufer Houseknecht.

He was a member of the Muncy Baptist Church. A resident of Muncy for 45 years, he was a charter member of the Keystone Hook and Ladder Co.

Mr. Houseknecht a veteran of World War I, was a member
of the Edward J. Smith Post No 3428, Verterans of Foreign Wrs, Muncy, and the American Legion Post No. 268, Muncy.

Surviving are his wife, the former Romaine P. Reese: a son, William P., of Hughesville; a stepson, Robert R. Banzhof, of Muncy RD 3; a brother, Ralph V., of Muncy; a sister, Mrs. Hattie M. Feigles, also of Muncy RD 3; a grandchild and two step-grandchildren.

The military funeral service will bek at; 2 p;.m. Monday at Welsh's, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, with his pastor, the Rev. Graham Freeman, officiating. Burial in Muncy Cemetery.

Married Maude Snyder in 1914, had son William Perry Houseknecht, Sr. Maude was living with her parents for a long time and died in Williamsport Hospital Saturday, Oct. 6, 1945.

Married Romaine Reese Banzhof in 1947, and she passed in 2003.
