He was a retired Dock Worker for the former Jones Motor Freight, of Shiremanstown and served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
John attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Dillsburg and was a member of the South Mountain VFW Post #6771 and the American Legion Post 26, both of Dillsburg.
He was also a member of the Teamsters.
