William Edward Banning was born in Oreana, on March 20, 1920, the son of Louis and Goldie Scammahorn Banning. He married Mary Scrimpsher on July 20, 1941.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Daniel N., Bruce D. and Alan N.; daughters, Mary Jeanne (Charles C.) Acklin, Leslie D. (Charles E.) Clark and Pamela L. (Jimmy)Davis; brothers, Glenn Banning and Clarence Banning; sisters, Verna Grubbs and Virginia Roy; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, William E. Jr, and one brother, Elmer.
