Jessica Nicole Pettengill, age 17, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, in an automobile accident.
She was born April 10, 1993, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Dwayne and Helen (Shrum) Pettengill, who survive. Also surviving are her grandmother, Laurana Shrum of Washburn, Missouri; one brother, Jeff Pettengill and his wife, Michelle of Wheaton, Missouri; three sisters, Lisa Pettengill and Tim Thompson of Cassville, Missouri; Khristy Paul and her husband, Shane and her children, Daryl and Josie of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and Laurie Wolf and her husband, Donnie and their children, Taylor and Jacob of Butterfield; a special niece, Kinsey Pettengill and numerous aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, H.E. and Marcella Pettengill; her maternal grandfather, Roy Shrum and a cousin, Jayci Shrum.
Jessica was a student at Wheaton High School. She loved sports, camping, fishing, cooking and being with her friends and family. She was employed at Busy Bee Day Care. She was a member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church and attended Baptist Hill Summer Camp.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in the Wheaton School Gymnasium, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be in Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
