Robert Enders, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a resident of Estell Manor for 60 years. Bob served proudly in World War II with the Merchant Marine. Bob was a life member of Estell Manor Volunteer Fire Co. and the Dorothy Volunteer Rescue Squad. He worked for Star Gas Service for 35 years prior to retirement in 1990.
Bob leaves behind what he was most proud of: his wife and 15 children. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary (Irving) Enders; his seven sons, Bobby, Mike, John, Frank (Amy), Joey (Molly), Steve (Christy) and Dan (Candice); his eight daughters, Mary (Joe) Lenyi, Pat (Ed) Johnson, Ann (Sal) Zeuner, Liz (Ed) Seelman, Teresa (Jerry) Seelman, Katie (Roy) Shone, Judy (Jim) Birch and Lisa (Brad) Styer. Bob is also survived by his 50 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his grandson, Luke Robert Zeuner.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Langley-Loveland Funeral Home, 2315 Route 50, Tuckahoe. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's R.C. Church, Pennsylvania Avenue, Dorothy.
