Last Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jas. McLane, occurred the death of Mrs. Leah Maxwell aged 90 years 10 months and 27 days. She was the oldest resident of this section. The funeral was held Tuesday, Rev Martindale of Greeley preaching the funeral sermon. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point Cemetery. Her brother Patrick and wife of Lincoln, Illinois and her children, Mesdames Clint Brandenburg and Frank Partch of Mederville, Mrs. W. M. Lamphier, of Volga City, Mrs. Enfield Brandenburg and Wm. Maxwell of Des Moines were among those present at the funeral .
