She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Simon and Fred.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Parkview Evangelical Church where she has been an active member since 1955. At Trudy's request, her earthly remains have been donated for medical research to the University of Iowa.
