Graveside services for Walter Daniel Clark, 83, were held on Thursday, May 20 at the Whitehouse Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas.

He was born Jan. 3, 1927, in Norphet, Ark., to Walter Earl Clark and Audie Middleton-Clark and died on May 16, 2010, in Conroe, Texas.

Mr. Clark served our country proudly in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Clark, and grandson, Chandler McBride.

Left to cherish his memory are four daughters, Dana McBride and husband, Kevin, and Sherry Dial and husband, Gene; grandchildren, Chelsea McBride, Ron Freeman, Holly Clarke, Jana Freeman and Raychel Clark; and ex-wife, Beverly Clark. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Odyssey Healthcare and the staff of Strake House for the loving care given to Mr. Clark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to chandlerstreefarm.org, a charity in memory of Mr. Clark's grandson.
