Mary I. Coe- Mary I. Coe was born near Kelly, January 8, 1887, was married to Thomas Downey January 15, 1908 and moved to Winside, Nebraska, where she resided until the latter part of December 1911, when they returned to Kelly. On January 17, 1912, she was taken ill with pneumonia and died January 26, 1912. Those left to mourn her loss are the husband and two children a boy of three and a girl of eleven months; two sisters, Anna and Katie Coe; a brother Charles Coe, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Coe and many friends both young and old. Funeral services were held at the Roots schoolhouse Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. L. Tainter of Centralia and interment was made in the Roots cemetery. 1 Feb 1912 The Courier-Tribune
