GALE LEVON RUSSEL "RUSS" A resident of Fremont for 18 years, died on Friday, March 1, 2002. He was 72 years old. He was born to George Marlin Gale and Evelyn Slade Gale in Durango, CO on January 2, 1930. He was the fifth of seven children, with 3 brothers (George Hugh Gale, James Eldon Gale, and Charles Leroy Gale) and 1 sister (Elsie Jean Thackeray) surviving him. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years Marty Gale; his two sons Mark Gale of Fremont and Thomas Gale of Birmingham, AL, his two daughters Karen Gale of Fremont and Kim Rogers of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Navy for 9 years. Following his enlistment he attended Brigham Young University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. His most recent employment was at Quickturn, a Cadence Company as a System Administrator. He enjoyed computers, classical music, Sci-Fi and the 49ers. He will be remembered as a man whose jovial spirit and contagious enjoyment of life, brought joy, happiness and laughter to everyone he met. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints and enjoyed working in the Oakland Temple. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services Thursday, March 7th at 11 a.m. at the LDS church 42500 Gatewood Avenue in Fremont. Visitation will be March 6th from 5-8 p.m at Chapel of the Angels(Berge-Pappas-Smith Mortuary). Contributions in lieu of Flowers can be made to the American Cancer Society.
