Sylvia Carpenter, age 86, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010. She was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a current attendant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Daphne, AL. While at Holy Family, Sylvia served as a Echaristic minister, prayer circle leader, and was active in Cursillo. She was also a member of the Wisteria Study Club of Mobile. Preceded in death by her husband Warren H. Carpenter and son, James Joseph Carpenter. She is survived by Sylvia C. Forbes of Daphne and John A. Carpenter of Sahuarita, AZ; sisters: Judith Meaux and Joanna Broussard of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren: Beth Woody of Birmingham, AL, Ryan Carpenter and Dylan Carpenter, both of Sahuarita, AZ, and Jason Carpenter and Michael Carpenter, both of Mobile, AL; five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Daphne, AL on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation and Reception at 9:00 a.m. preceding the Celebration of Life Service.
