Mrs. Nancy Ownbey Eaker, a native of Adobe Walls and a member of a prominent North Plains ranch family, was killed in an automobile crash in Alton, Illinois recently where she had lived for the past 15 years.
Mrs. Eaker, 38, was the twin sister of Robert J. Ownbey, a long-time rancher in Hutchinson County. Other survivors include her husband, Dr. William C. Eaker of Alton; two sons, Jimmy and William, and two daughters, Donna and Martha, all of Alton. Also surviving is her mother, Mrs. Jim Ownbey of Canadian, Texas.
Her body was returned to Canadian for funeral services. Burial was in Holt Cemetery south of Spearman. She was interred beside her father, Jim Ownbey, an early-day Hutchinson County Sheriff who died last year.
