WELL KNOWN MERCHANT MAN IS DEAD
George M. Reynolds of Reynolds and Casteel Victim
Hemorage of Brain
Succumbs to Attack Shortly After Arriving at Store
at 9 O'clock Today

George M. Reynolds, for the past six years the partner of William R. Casteel in the Reynolds & Casteel store on Dewey avenue, dropped dead this morning shortly after 9 o'clock caused by hemmorage of the brain. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Reynolds was one of the pioneer residents of this section of the state. In 1898 he came here from Arkansas and purchased a ranch near Mounds. Some years later he develed (sic) a fancy to the mercantile business and opened a store at Mounds with William Casteel as partner.

After some years of successful business at that place the store was moved to Sapulpa in 1912, occupying the place where the former Gooden store was located. Later the store was again moved to across the street on Dewey avenue to the location where it now stands.

Mr. Reynolds is survived by one daughter here, who is the wife of his partner, Mr. Casteel, grandchildren at Mounds and a brother now living in Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at Mounds tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church. Rev. J.E. Dart of the First Methodist church of this city will officiate. Also in connection with the funeral the Odd Fellows are requested to be there in a body. The remains will be taken in that place by auto. The sudden death of this well-known Sapulpa and Mounds business man will come as a decided shock to his many friends here and at his former business location. Mr. Reynolds had only been in the store five minuets (sic) and had walked over to the stove where he sat down. He fell from his chair to the floor."
