Samuel Coy Cummings, 87, of Prescott, AR, passed away on January 18, 2016 in Prescott, AR.

He was born on April 3, 1928 in Boughton, AR.

Samuel was a veteran, retired from Arkla Gas where he worked on their pipelines, and was a member of Missionary Grove Baptist Church. He loved to farm while growing watermelons and he loved to deer hunt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Cummings; his parents, Jack Cummings and Betty Hoover-Cummings; and five sisters.

Samuel is survived by a son, Danny Cummings and wife Jane of Prescott; a daughter, Anna Sue Arney and husband Bobby of Prescott; his grandchildren: Angela Godwin of Texarkana, Jeff Cummings of Prescott, and Amber Burdett of Maumelle, AR; his great grandchildren: Katie Cummings, Holly Cummings and Dusty Jones; and a host of friends.

The funeral services will be held at the Missionary Grove Baptist Church, Prescott, AR with Neal Ridling officiating. The interment services to follow in Missionary Grove Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott.
