Charles was the son of Joseph Moore and Sarah Biles. He married Mahala Blackwell on 5 Oct. 1839 in Mercer Co., NJ.

Charles Biles Moore, son of Joseph Moore, was born, it is supposed in Lawrenceville, and for many years owned a farm in the neighborhood of Dutch Neck. He married Mahala Blackwell, of Mount Rose, New Jersey, a member of a family which played an important part in the history of Mercer county. Mr. and Mrs. Moore were the parents of the following children: Joseph, of whom later. Mary Ann, wife of Jesse C. Slocum, of Oklahoma, children: Harry Norman and Gertrude Mahala. Emma F., wife of Forman Hulick, of Edenburg, children: Water, Mahala, Ada, Charles, Milton, Rosco and Orville.

Note: Charles's gravestone (a modern replacement) gives his age at death as 65 years and 17 days. However, his family Bible record gives his birth date as 21 Sep. 1816. It would appear that he was really 65 years, 1 month & 17 days at death, and that a part of the age ("1 month") was omitted in the new inscription.
